The rave doesn’t stop when the show ends! Local DJs and party scene performance artists keep the sweaty, high-octane techno vibes of The Butterfly Who Flew Into The Rave going as we welcome the SummerWorks community to celebrate opening night with us.

Sensory: loud music, bright/flashing/strobe lighting. Foam earplugs will be available on site. The venue will have a designated relaxed space, as well as other less-sensory stimulating areas outside of the dance party area.

This year’s Festival theme, Fight | Flight brings forward urgent creative responses to this troubling moment in time. Across the 2026 Festival, artists root themselves in place, community, ancestry, and practice, while also shifting perspectives, rewriting histories, and creating new narratives through the body, exploring memory, consent, transformation, and identity, through resistance, humour, and intimacy.
