Join Playwright, Pamela Mala Sinha, Tarragon Theatre Artistic Director, Mike Payette, and Dramaturg / Associate Artistic Director, Jeff Ho for a sharing of scenes from Majesty, followed by a conversation around the commission, development, and landscape of New Play Development in Canada.

About Pamela Mala Sinha’s Majesty
It’s the 1800s and two radically different royal teens, Princess Gouramma and Prince Duleep, rebel; one against their godmother Queen Victoria’s classism and racism, the other against their Indian identity until finally, they rise to claim their individual freedom from the English and Indian powers who once made them pawns.

About Tarragon
Tarragon Theatre is Canada’s home for groundbreaking contemporary plays. Our mission is to create, develop and produce new plays to provide the conditions for new work to thrive. Tarragon Theatre is a creation and playwrights’ theatre. We seek to create theatre that investigates artistic form, which may incorporate non-traditional practices and methods of storytelling, and may integrate other disciplines such as movement, music or non-text based performance – all toward creating enriching and provocative theatre experiences for the artist and audience.
