SlowPitchSound’s otherworldly environmentally focused adventure Within Touch is an audio/visual performance that features a unique style of musical making, which mirrors the incredible unfurling of the natural world.
Within Touch is a multi-sensory show, combining music and visual projections to highlight the importance of the world’s forests, as well as the life forms that inhabit them. The piece is performed using a turntable, looper, drum machine, and video camera.
During the performance, the audience will have a closeup view of SlowPitchSound’s (Chel Paterson’s) process of storytelling projected on screen. You will witness improvised music and visual compositions created in a very unique way, an art form that SlowPitchSound has been developing for over two decades, which he calls “Sci-fi Turntablism”.

*A brief nature-inspired Touch Tour of scenic elements will be provided before all performances.
Sensory advisories: loud sound, spotlight, projections that may include occasional glimmering light.
Content advisories: During the pre-show period, audience members are invited to participate in a quick and fun group activity. During the performance audience members are welcome to sit or lay down in two designated areas.
