Experience the joy of dance with Wei-Chia Su in a special single-session workshop open to all ages 15 and above. This inclusive session invites participants to explore movement through fun, imaginative exercises inspired by Su’s FreeSteps project. No prior dance experience is necessary – just bring your curiosity and willingness to move. Through guided activities, participants will connect with their body, express themselves freely, and share the experience with others, making this workshop a perfect introduction to the therapeutic and creative benefits of dance.
Drawing from the FreeSteps project, Wei-Chia Su guides participants using techniques that celebrate the potential of every body. The workshop incorporates elements of dance movement therapy, creating a safe and nurturing environment for exploring physicality and emotional expression. Through imaginative prompts and structured limitations, participants will discover new ways to move, interact, and express themselves.
Whether you’re curious about dance, seeking a fun way to move, or looking for a creative and therapeutic experience, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to learn from an experienced choreographer in a supportive environment. Su’s FreeSteps project, described as a “succession of shocks that drive the imagination into obscure and delicious depths” (Tai Kwun), invites participants to let go of expectations and embrace the freedom of movement.
Discover Your Body’s Dance is presented in alignment with FreeSteps – NiNi and FreeSteps – Grand Canyon.
Facilitator: Wei-Chia Su

In 2013, he started the FreeSteps project which focuses on exploring the deepest possibilities of the performers’ physical abilities. A performance at Les Hivernales – CDCN d’Avignon was described as “a succession of shocks that drive the imagination into obscure and delicious depths.” In 2016, Wei-Chia was the resident artist of the National Theater & Concert Hall. In recent years, Wei-Chia enjoys using his FreeSteps findings for public art education and dance promotions.
