Main Character Energy: Mapping Archetype through the Zodiac is a playful dive into character development through an astrological lens. Forget the memes and horoscopes—this project digs deeper into whether those zodiac stereotypes hold any water. Are Leos really the drama queens? Are Scorpios truly terrifying? And can Geminis ever keep a secret?

Inspired by the development of Constellation Prize, an astrology-themed musical project, I wanted characters that felt like more than just star sign clichés. Even in a comedy, I aimed for authenticity, reflecting real traits on stage. So, I decided to ask the signs themselves.

Enter Main Character Energy. This companion project is a fun, qualitative study of astrological archetypes to enrich character development. By asking people of the same sign the same questions, I hope to spot patterns and craft a singular persona for each zodiac sign.

With SummerWorks landing right in the middle of Leo Season, I’ll be focusing on those fiery royals. I’ve polled 100 Leos and will share the findings live on stage, exploring their traits with a panel of participants. Can we boil down 100 voices into one Leo archetype? Let’s find out!
