“It’s about the bear.”
“Which bear? The big bear? The star constellation? The homosexual archetype?”
“No the bear that is waiting.”
From the confidential to the indecent, Ghosts takes us on journey from the erotic to the pornographic and back again to friendship. Veiling and unveiling the potential of a complex intimacy between two lovers, between a monkey and a naked boy this object-oriented dance explodes the queer performativity of Nature.
Drawing on the work of theorist Michael Hardt, GHOSTS tries to understand how love can be the central, constitutive mode and motor of politics.
Created and Performed by Asaf Aharonson and Ruairí Donovan; Lighting Design by Gretchen Blegen, Dramaturgical Assistance by Hana Lee Erdman; Produced by Cathy Walsh.
Presented in partnership with the Ireland Park Foundation and Tiger Dublin Fringe. Travel support provided by Culture Ireland.
"Ghosts is a personal response to a piece of Irish legislation surrounding "indecent acts". Testing the limits of the law, this is a playful provocative piece from two very unique artists showing for the first time in Canada." - Michael Rubenfeld
