For 16 years, SummerWorks has been showcasing young artists by presenting work from the Sears Ontario Drama Festival Toronto regional finals. One student-written play is chosen to receive a play workshop reading with a professional director and actors. This year’s winning play is Selkie by Isabelle Hinch.
Isabelle Hinch is a senior and honour student at l’École secondaire catholique l’Essor in Tecumseh, Ontario. Her mother being a drama teacher, Isabelle practically grew up on stage and in the wings. Since the age of seven Isabelle has played in a wide variety of school and community theatre projects. Part of a class project, Selkie is her first attempt at play writing. Isabelle will be pursuing an Honours degree in Arts and Science at the University of Windsor.
