Latecomers permitted up until 10 minutes after the start of the performance.
Soft representations of violence, nudity, possible strobe (few but unexpected flashes of light).
An experimental dance performance created in collaboration with visual artist Cameron Lee, sound artist Christopher Willes, and lighting designer Timothy Rodrigues. Using choreography to forge soft weapons of alienation, Aattitle aims point blank at language’s grip on the production of experience and violates our fetish for linear time.
There is no way out.
Initiated, Choreographed, and Performed by Simon Portigal; Costume and Scenographic Design by Cameron Lee; Sound Design by Christopher Willes; Stage Managed, Technical Support and Lighting Design by Timothy Rodrigues.
"Simon’s work and performance often has a quiet confidence that tackles big issues, pushes comforts, and delves into physical and psychological inquiries. His investigation for Aattitle of the potency of language and its experiential tentacles will no doubt be both curious and captivating." - Jenn Goodwin
